Frequently asked questions

Multi-Finish or Board Finish?

Board Finish is made for skimming plasterboard. Multi-Finish works over plasterboard and over backing coats like Bonding and Hardwall, so it's the usual choice when you're doing both.

How thick should a skim coat be?

About 2mm, in two thin coats. Finish plasters aren't meant to go much thicker: fill deeper hollows with Bonding or One Coat first.

How long does an opened bag of plaster last?

Plaster has a shelf life of a few months, and an opened bag soaks up moisture from the air. Old plaster sets too fast, so buy what you need for the job.
