These terms apply to your use of uktoolcalc.uk (the "website"). By using the website you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the website. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy also apply.
2. Free use of the calculators
The calculators and guides are free for personal and professional use. You may print or share your results and link to any page. You may not copy, scrape, reproduce or republish the calculators, their code or our written content without our written permission.
3. Results are estimates only
All quantities, coverage rates, drying times, heat outputs and prices on this website are general estimates based on typical UK industry figures. Real-world quantities depend on many things we can't see, including the condition of the surface, the exact products and pack sizes you buy, joint widths, compaction, wastage and workmanship.
- Always check quantities against the manufacturer's data sheet and with your supplier before ordering, especially for non-returnable materials.
- Prices shown next to results are taken from UK merchants' websites or product feeds on the date shown. They are a guide only, not quotes or offers: merchants can change prices at any time, prices may vary by store, postcode and stock, and delivery is not included. Always check the price on the merchant's website before you buy. You can overwrite any price with your own.
- The website does not provide structural, engineering, heating design or other professional advice. Where work affects structure, drainage, fire safety, gas, electrics or building regulations, consult a qualified professional and your local building control body.
4. Health and safety
Building and DIY work can be dangerous. You are responsible for working safely, using appropriate protective equipment, following product instructions and complying with all applicable laws, regulations and planning requirements.
5. Adverts and affiliate links
The website may display adverts (including Google AdSense) and contains affiliate links, including as a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme. We may earn a commission if you buy through these links, at no extra cost to you. We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party products, prices, availability or websites, and inclusion of a link isn't an endorsement.
6. Saved jobs, emails and price alerts
- Saved jobs and remembered measurements are kept only in your browser on your device. They can be lost if you clear your browser data, use a private window or change device, and we can't recover them. Use Share, Copy list, Print or Email me this job to keep a copy of anything important.
- Emailed jobs, price-change emails and monthly tips are free services we provide on a best-effort basis. Emails may be delayed, filtered as spam or not sent, and a price change may not trigger an alert. Prices in our emails are a guide only, on the same basis as the prices on the website (see section 3).
- You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any of our emails. We may change, pause or stop these services at any time.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the website available and accurate, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always up to date. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or its results. This includes material shortages or over-ordering, delays, wasted costs, or loss of profit or business. The website is provided free of charge "as is".

The website's design, code, text, calculators and graphics are owned by UkToolCalc.uk or its licensors and are protected by copyright. Product and brand names mentioned belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
